There is a gland that sits in the centre of our cranium hidden away in a tiny cave in our heads, totally under used in the majority of people. This gland is a cone shaped gland, weighing around 0.1 gram and just the size of a pea typically… it is called the Pineal Gland (for more biological info. on the Pineal Gland see the bottom of this blog).
It has been considered that the function of the Pineal Gland, once open, is to increase awareness and intuition and to receive higher learnings and wisdom. It is considered to be the most powerful and highest source of ethereal energy available to humans and is also associated with natural psychic talents.
Also called the ‘3rd eye’, it has been recognised and explained by humanity as a spiritual eye and inner wisdom. Ancient Greeks believed this gland to be our connection to the realms of thought and it has also been referred to as ‘the seat of the soul’.
There is a chemical that is known to be very harmful for the Pineal Gland, calcifying it. This chemical is called fluoride *. Fluoride is a chemical that is used vastly, by the Government. It is added to many of our regions, and worldwide areas drinking water (to help in the reduction of tooth decay, however, latest findings show that fluoride works ‘topically’, therefore, does not need to, or should not be ingested. It is being proved now that fluoride is harmful, as with most chemicals, when ingested and certainly inhibits Pineal Gland development.
When the Pineal Gland opens (awakens), a pressure may be felt at the base of the brain (at the back of the head). This pressure is more likely to be felt when connecting to higher frequencies (I can explain frequencies later!). A head injury can also activate this gland.
So if you are interested in how to ‘awaken’ this gland (without a head injury!) then, apart from avoiding fluoride ingestion as much as possible, it seems that switching off from negative emotions and connecting more to positive emotions, as much as possible, is essential. This is because emotions have a vibrational energy (a vibrational frequency) to them, perhaps like when the vibration of a high pitched sound has been known to shatter glass. The lowest frequencies seem to be the negative ones, for example, anger has a very low vibrational frequency. The highest known frequencies being love and laughter. Therefore, the warmer and in touch feeling of love and connection you can feel, multiplying those feelings, and being able to laugh more, and more often, being in these states of mind as a default setting, the stronger the connection for the Pineal Gland to work for you.
For any people out there who think that they aren’t emotional, or don’t have emotions, well, in fact you do, we all do, as human beings. Sometimes, however, especially in the Western World, we may ‘suppress’ emotions, a form of emotional management (though not a very good one). We can often suppress emotions, rather than ‘addressing’ them.
The problem with suppressing though is that the emotions, if not addressed at the time, remain with us and can then manifest into physicality. It has been proven now that unaddressed emotions can manifest in the form of physical discomfort, pains and more.
Only when we are ready to deal with ‘suppressed’ emotions can we allow them to, ‘bob to the surface’ to be cleared. The key (once we clear up our ‘old emotional baggage’ and that’s a process in itself!) is to understand that emotions ‘tell’ us something in the moment they arise to either ‘act’ on something or ‘accept’ something (old thoughts/emotions need to be cleared in order to trust our emotional ‘pop ups’, otherwise, there would be mixed/confusing messages and may not be what needs to be addressed in that moment).
Finally, the Pineal Gland is also said to be our third physical eye. Our eyes look outward, view objects upside down, send messages to our brain and our brain interprets the messages and makes our images appear right side up to us. The Pineal Gland, however, once opened, can only physically look upwards.
Happy exploring!
Here’s wishing you lots more love and wisdom… with giggles attached!

And for anyone wanting to understand more about the general biology of the Pineal Gland:-
The Pineal Gland sits behind and above the pituitary gland, which lies a little behind the root of the nose, directly behind the eyes, attached to the 3rd ventricle. The Pineal Gland and the Pituitary Gland work in harmony with the Hypothalamus Gland which regulates the body’s thirst, hunger, sexual desire and biological clock (determining the aging process).
The gland is large in children but begins to shrink with the onset of puberty along with external environmental factors, such as fluoride ingestion and emotional factors. The abundant melatonin level in children is believed to naturally slow down sexual development, until puberty, when melatonin production is reduced.
The Pineal Gland is light sensitive and secretes melatonin during times of relaxation and darkness In humans it affects circadian rythms (our internal clock) and biorythms, sleep patterns (melatonin secretion levels increase at night, without light) and lack of it can be implicated in seasonal affective disorder. It appears to play a major role in balanced sexual development, hibernation in animals, metabolism and seasonal breeding.
